Web 1.0 is simply an information portal where users passively receive information without being given the opportunity to post reviews, comments, and feedback. Web 1.0 is a very basic form of the web, with nothing more than the receiving of information.
Web 1.0 Examples include Britannica Online, Ofoto, and Personal websites.
Web 2.0 is the second stage of development of the World Wide Web, known for the change from static web pages to dynamic or user-generated content and the growth of social media. Sites now had comment sections, and the exchange of data between users came into existence.
Web 2.0 Examples include Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter.
With the introduction of web 2.0, the web became a much more personal place. Web 2.0 allowed data exchange, which opened MANY doors. Users are now able to communicate with each other, ask questions online, and help each other out. With web 2.0, the web became less website focused, and more user focused.
